The "George & Tammy" miniseries was written by Abe Sylvia, who's known for his TV work ("Nurse Jackie," "Dead to Me"). The feature films " One True Loves" and " Breakwater" are listed as being in pre-production. There are currently four major TV productions currently listed as in-production on the website for the Wilmington Regional Film Commission: " The Summer I Turned Pretty" for Amazon, "Echoes" and "Florida Man" for Netflix and "Our Kind of People" for Fox. It will be the latest production to shoot locally in what could be a record year for the film industry in Wilmington. "George & Tammy" started pre-production in Wilmington back in April, but went on hiatus after a couple of weeks. In her post on Facebook, Jones said the actor Josh Brolin was initially set to play her father, but due to scheduling conflicts Brolin will serve as co-producer instead. It's not clear when filming is supposed to start, but with all of the studio space at EUE/Screen Gems Studios currently booked with other productions, "George & Tammy" would appear to be using Wilmington-area locations for the most part.
